The granddaddy of the culture-jamming pop-up movement is Eskender Aseged, a former waiter at Square One and Campton Place who held his first series of weekly Radio Africa dinners in 2004. After eight years of pop-ups, Aseged’s Ethiopian, Central African and Mediterranean food found a permanent home at his Bayview restaurant, Radio Africa & Kitchen.
